Experience true paradise, Samoan style, with our private beach accomodations, outdoor seafood dining and our world famous, handmade piña coladas.Book your homestay or Cruise Ship Tour package by visiting Tisa's Barefoot Bar & Eco-Resort opened in April of 1989. It consisted of a fale without walls and doors. The 200 square feet of sand floor was big enough for one bartender (Tisa), a shelf of cold beer in a small cooler and room for 5 customers. Today, Tisa's Barefoot Bar & Eco-Resort offers beach-side homestay accommodations for up to 6 persons at our marine sanctuary, fresh seafood dining by reservation for visitors, plus we host up to 60 guests for a weekly, traditional umu feast -- all without losing our original beach-bar ambiance. Each Wednesday night the umu feast, prepared and wrapped in banana leaves, is laid over hand-selected rocks and coconut husks and is the only one of itʻs kind served on the Island of Tutuila. Reservations recommended. We dine in the traditional Samoan way -- on hand-woven palm plates. Lunch and dinner is served Tuesday - Sunday beginning at Noon, reservations also recommended. Tisa's design priority was to maintain the ocean view to witness dolphins swimming at high tide off the reef a few hundred yards away. "When I look up to serve a beer to a customer", Tisa related, "my eyes automatically fall into position where dolphins come into view. They are magnificent mammals that never fail to carry my imagination away with them."

Welcome to our island beautiful students. The “Am-Sam Madames” landed safely in American Samoa last Thursday night, greeted by the hospitable staff of LBJ Tropical Medical Center, where they will be this year's third group of Bryant University PA Students to complete two consecutive clinical rotations on the island! These eight students met Bryant PA Director of Clinical Education Chris Ferreira, PA-C in Honolulu, Hawaii, and toured the Pearl Harbor National Memorial at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam before flying together to American Samoa via Hawaiian Airlines. Activities on the ground included orientation at the hospital, signing up for Paula’s workout at South Pacific Watersports & Fitness, hiking up Mount Alava, and visiting Tisa's Barefoot Bar, where the students presented their tropical disease primers over a dinner made from fresh yellowfin tuna caught by the crew at Tisa’s earlier that day!
